The Sealer - Color Base - Clear Topcoat
Before applying the color base coating or even the clear topcoat, it is imperative for the tile to be thoroughly sealed with a penetrating binder that includes a polyurethane dispersion that penetrates every pore and bonds to your roof so the coatings will not peel or scratch. The color base coating includes a 100% pure acrylic based binder with light-fast organic pigments that helps seal, bind and match the color of the existing roof, new color or blend. A clear acrylic topcoat, with a Biocide, fights organic growth, protects color and adds years to the finish.
Material Description & Application Methods
Penetrating Binder
The sealer is a polymer dispersion that penetrates deeply into the surface of concrete substrates. It helps to seal and bind the upper surface of a roof tile before application of a color coat. It is supplied at full strength and is never diluted before use. It is always kept from freezing and applied with an airless spray unit at or above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. We always allow at least an hour before sunset or the onset of rain to complete application. (M1898-7)
Roof Tile Color Basecoats
The color applications are 100% acrylic based pigmented coatings, coming in a variety of colors. The paints are always kept from freezing and are always thoroughly stirred before use. Two applications of color coat is applied for a combined dry film thickness of 3 to 4 mils. It is applied with an airless spray unit or equivalent at or above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. We always allow at least an hour before sunset or onset of rain to complete application of the final color coat. (M3100-4000)
Clear Sealers and Topcoats
The final coatings are all 100% Acrylic clear coatings designed to protect the color coat from any environmental exposure and adds years to the service life of the finish. The clear sealer and topcoat are always kept from freezing and stirred thoroughly before use. (M1075/M1125-75/M1125-25)
